Direct Thermal Labels for the iDPRT SP410 Printer

Our compatible iDPRT SP410 labels use heat-sensitive direct thermal material, allowing the printer to produce clear text, barcodes and graphics without requiring ink, toner or a thermal transfer ribbon.

The SP410 uses an external roll holder and is best suited to label rolls with a maximum outside diameter of 127mm on either 25mm or 38mm cores.

The printer accepts media widths between 50mm and 118mm, including the label and its backing paper. The maximum media width for this category is 118mm.

What Are Direct Thermal Labels?

Direct thermal labels have a heat-sensitive surface that darkens when heated by the printer’s thermal printhead. This creates a fast and economical printing process without the additional cost or inconvenience of a ribbon.

These labels are commonly used for:

  • Shipping and courier labels
  • Address and dispatch labels
  • Barcode and QR code labels
  • Parcel and pallet identification
  • Stock and inventory control
  • Warehouse picking labels
  • Retail and price labels
  • Batch and date labels
  • Food-rotation labels
  • General office labelling

Standard and Top-Coated Direct Thermal Labels

Standard direct thermal paper labels are suitable for general shipping, warehouse, retail and identification applications.

Top-coated direct thermal labels have an additional protective surface that can provide improved resistance to moisture, oils, handling and environmental exposure. They are suitable for applications where standard direct thermal paper may not offer sufficient protection.

Direct thermal print can gradually fade when exposed to heat, strong sunlight or certain chemicals. It is therefore best suited to short- and medium-term labelling applications.

Choosing the Correct Labels

Before ordering, check the complete media width, roll diameter and core size. The media must measure between 50mm and 118mm wide, including its backing paper.
